About the job
Tasks and assignments span a wide area and vary in size and complexity. You need to be able to translate and use your operational experience in partly new contexts. In the work, you will meet individuals, both with and without operational experience, so you need to have the ability to communicate effectively in different contexts.
The work is based in Norrköping, Gothenburg, or Stockholm (Kista) where we work with supervision, permit assessment, and rule development within air traffic services (ATM/ANS). We collaborate with many different actors in the aviation sector within Sweden, Europe, and the rest of the world.

You will
- work with various issues within air traffic services for civil and military aviation,
- work with supervision and permit assessment,
- participate in the development and change of regulations, both nationally and internationally,
- have contact with providers of air traffic services, primarily within Sweden,
- have contacts with other countries' aviation authorities and international organizations, and
- contribute to tasks within the authority based on the needs of the entire operation.
The work includes travel both within Sweden and to other parts of the world, primarily within Europe.
You must have
- many years of operational professional experience as an air traffic controller
- a driving license with B category.
It is advantageous if you also have
- experience in safety assessments and change work
- good knowledge of military aviation
- experience in quality or safety management.

The employment is permanent with placement at one of the authority's operational locations: Norrköping, Stockholm, or Gothenburg.
Appointment according to agreement.
We normally apply a probationary period. As an employee with us, there is the possibility to work remotely up to three days a week. The needs of the operation and the nature of the tasks will determine if and to what extent this is possible. An employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted. For some of our tasks in security class, Swedish citizenship is required.

About Transportstyrelsen
Number of employees: Approximately 2000.
Areas of operation: Transportstyrelsen works to achieve good accessibility, high quality, safe, and environmentally friendly transport within rail, aviation, shipping, and road. We develop regulations, issue permits, and monitor compliance. With the help of our registers, we work with fees, permits, and ownership changes.
Operational locations: We have employees in 12 locations across the country. The largest part of the operation is in Borlänge, Norrköping, and Örebro.

About the Maritime and Aviation Department
The Maritime and Aviation Department contributes to a competitive, environmentally friendly, and safe transport system. We do this by maintaining registers, formulating regulations, assessing and issuing permits, and exercising supervision. We also operate in many contexts on the international arena.
We are located in Norrköping, Gothenburg, Malmö, and Stockholm and have approximately 300 employees organized into six units and a staff unit.
